Geoplaza was founded in 2009 through a collaboration of the University Library, SPIN lab en CLUE+† The platform aims to facilitate all VU students, researchers and teachers in GIS-related matters: information about software, ArcGIS Online, courses, inspiring examples, etc. The University Library's contribution includes the special collection of Maps and Atlases that it manages. .
In 2021 the website will be updated and adapted to the new look of the VU. This innovation was made possible by funding from the VUO fund for research infrastructure. The website is managed by the University Library.
